Tiptop Audio Winter Namm 2009

It’s time to get ready to clear up 28HP of your precious modular space for a unique sonic experience, watch out, the Z-DSP is coming your way. The module is currently in the final stages of beta testing and the first batch is expected to be available sometime in November. A number of the Z-DSP’s components are custom made and supplied to us in small quantities; as a result the first run is limited to 40 modules and we hope to have another batch made during December.
One of the unique features of the Z-DSP is its ability to change applications on-the-fly with the algorithm cartridges. The first cartridge to be offered for the Z-DSP is the Dragonfly Delay, a collection of 8 time-based VC-Stereo-Delay algorithms that behave gently and sweetly, but, with the twist of a knob, switch of a button, or patch addition, it can suddenly become extremely rude and dynamic. Each algorithm bends the space-time of your waves in a unique manner. Next in line will be the Spider Filter, a collection of 8 brutal VC-Digital Filters (VCDF) with deep cut/pass filters and attacking resonance that really bites. This cartridge is currently rated NC-17 here in Hollywood, so beware.
Coming soon...

We recently did some work on our servers and pages, so a few things may have been shuffled around in the process. Most notably, the URLs for our manuals has changed. Links to all three manuals can be found on the following page:
For the individual manuals, if you are having trouble getting to them using the out-dated stickers on some of our products, can be found in the following links:
We apologize for any inconvienience that this may have caused!

We are happy to announce our next module in the Z series: The Z2040 A 24db 4-Pole Voltage Controlled Lowpass Filter, an implementation based on the original US patent of the SSM2040 filter chip used in the Prophet 5 Rev2 synthesizer. The Z2040 also adds a lot of extra features on top of the original 4-pole discrete OTA core allowing extra modulation capability, extended flexibility and control over this deep cut-off low pass filtering core. The Z2040 is capable of producing thick, overdriven grit as well as warm, smooth sweeps. The Z2040 will be available through Analogue Heaven and Schniders Beuro starting June 2009.
We've been working around the clock... Burning the midnight oil... Applying copious amounts of elbow grease... Whatever you want to call it, we've been doing it. All to get the Z3000 out the door. The first batch is being assembled as this post goes up and needless to say we are extremely excited.
We hope to have the first batch available by the end of this month or very early next month. More importantly, this first batch is fairly limited, so if you want one keep an eye on the site for launch and distributor announcements!
It has been a while, but we have some exciting news! We officially have distribution in Germany through Schneider's Buero! As you already know we have one of the absolutely best distributors here in the states, the amazing Analogue Haven but we really felt that we were leaving our European counterparts out of the loop!
This has been a very exciting process for us and we are proud to have finally secured overseas distribution, but to top that off, it is with one of the best and most well-respected distributors in Germany! What more could we ask for?
Hello. Its been few months of intense design work, but our next module is coming along nicely. This module is a dream come true for our designer, pairing a gloss of digital electronics with a thick layer of analog sound circuitry. A radical departure from our first product, the Z5000, this new module is an embodiment of our design process and our slogan: Analog. Digital. Harmony.
Our design process starts with the community; we listen to synthesists, technicians, hobbyists and everyone in between, learn your desires and needs, and combine them with our ideas and new technology to bring you affordable analog sound technology. The new module is the culmination of years of discussion and debate finally being realized in physical form. We are supremely excited about the potential of this new product.
As excited as we are, we can't really explain what this is all about just yet, but we can say that our beta testers are about to get their hands on the first prototypes and will have interesting things to say in the coming weeks.
Please be sure to visit our website and forum for updates on the upcoming release.
Well, here it is folks! Our new and shiny web site! It has taken an inordinate amount of work to complete, but here it is! If you are looking for information about our first module, the Z5000, hit the Products link at the top of the page or the link in the space above. For Contact information, hit the Contact link. The Forums are also up and running, so check those out. I hope you like the site!
There is still a lot more work that is going into this site, so please stop by and check it out! I hope to be adding a Projects area at some point, just to show everyone that we don't just make the modules, we use them and have other projects (DIY and otherwise) that we do. Eventually, we'll have a development blog, just to show off some of the inner workings of making a module here at Tiptop Audio!
